The aims and objectives of the Stephen Oluwole Awokoya Foundation for Science Education is to primarily promote Science Education in Nigerian Institutions of higher learning through the following means:

• The award of scholarship to distinguished persons who are in higher institutions of learning and are desirous of undertaking post-graduate studies in science related disciplines.

• The creation of educational science endowment in various institutions of learning in aid of Science Education.

• The regular payment of subvention to science institutions, science faculties and/or departments of higher institutions and universities and also secondary and tertiary institutions, to assist in funding scientific research and equipping science laboratories.

• The funding of individual, corporate or other applied research on named scientific issues that the Board of Trustees may from time to time select.

• To organize science seminars, lectures and/or symposia to promote awareness and stimulate interest in contemporary scientific issues.
