Senator (Otunba) Olabiyi Durojaiye B.Sc.(Lond.), LL.B B.L., mni, AMNIM

Chairman, Board of Trustees

Senator Durojaiye represented Ogun East Senatorial District at the senate from June 1999 to June 2003. He is now in private legal practice. He is also a banker, Economist with a 35 years public services career including 28 years as a senior staff of the Central Bank and Executive Director of the Nigeria Security Printing & Minting Company (NSPMC). He is also a past president of Alumni association of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies and former presidential Aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) during the 3rd republic.

Senator Durojaiye is the chairman of the Governing Council of the Yoruba Education Trust Fund (YETFUND). He has been recently appointed as the chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC).

Emeritus Prof. Isaac Ayinde Adalemo

Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees

Isaac Ayinde Adelemo, a former ASPAU Scholar (1961 wave) and AFGRAD Fellow (1964 wave), is a retired Professor of Geography (1977-2004) , the Foundation Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies (1981- 1984) and Deputy Vice- Chancellor(1985- 1989) of the University of Lagos.

He was the Foundation Managing Director of the Development Policy Centre, Ibadan (1994-1996) and also served as a member of the Governing Council of the Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) Ago-iwoye. At various times, he served as president, Nigerian Economic Society (NES), Nigerian Cartographic Association (NCA), Institute of Security (ISN), and the Nigerian Geographical Association (NGA).

A former Fulbright Fellow and Senior research Scientist at various Universities in the United States of America, Professor Adalemo has been conferred with several honours including the Distinguished Alumnus of the African Graduate Fellowship Program (AFGRAD) by the postgraduate deans of American Universities, the first Nigerian to be so honoured. He has also been conferred with the Fellowships of several academic and professional societies in Nigeria and abroad.

Prof. Ayodele F. Ogunye

Professor Ayo Ogunye studied Chemical Engineering at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London 1963/1966 and University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada 1966/1969. He returned to Nigeriain September 1970 after an eight months post doctoral distinction fellowship to lecture chemical engineering at University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and later in August 1973 to start the new department at University of Lagos under Prof. J F Ade Ajayi as the Vice – Chancellor. He was appointed the first Professor of Chemical Engineering of the University of Lagos in March 1979. He was at different times Acting Head and Head of Department until he voluntarily stepped down as the Head, eighteen months before the expiry of his term on October 1, 1980.  On his retirement he endowed the department which started in 1973 with his gratuity and his monthly pension since retirement in September 1995.

The endowment is presently managed by the Board of Trustees of Professor Ayo Ogunye Trust Foundation by Eminent Nigerians at the University of Lagos. He is a Past President of The Nigerian Academy of Engineering.

Mrs Modupe Aduke Ogunwale B.Sc.(Lagos)

Mrs. Ogunwale (Nee Awokoya) retired as the Director (Research and Training) of the Meteorological Agency in the Federal Ministry of Aviation. She is the first lady Meteorologist in Nigeria, and is the focal point in Nigeria for the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) on participation of Women in Meteorology. She is also a founding member of the Nigerian Meteorological Society (FNMets)

She is now the MD/CEO of Season Support and Supplies Limited (SS&S).

Dr. Folarin Awokoya Ph.D.(Engr.)

Dr. Awokoya is the Chairman / Chief Executive Officer of Tritech Computers Ltd., an information technology service firm providing online services including web presence products and seervices (, bulk sms services (, global outsourcing  services (, along with computer hardware and LAN/WAN infrastructure services.

He hold a Ph.D and M.Sc degree in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of technology, Cambridge, Mass., USA. He also holds a M.Sc degree in Management from Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Awokoya is an alumni of Federal school of Science, Onikan, Lagos; Government College, Ibadan; and St. Paul’s Primary School, Breadfruit, Lagos.

Dr. Sonny Folorunsho Kuku, OFR

The Olor’ogun Dr. Sonny Kuku , is a Master Physician, Renowned Scholar and Administrator. He holds several degrees and Fellowships in Medicine and science including two (2) doctorates by exam. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Sciences.

A past President of the West African College Physicians, He was chairman of the Committee of Pro- Chancellors of States Universities and of the Committee of Chairmen of Nigerian Tertiary Hospitals. He is the immediate past Chairman of Ecobank Nigeria and past Chairman of Bank Directors Association of Nigeria. He is currently the Chairman of Ekocorp Plc (Eko Hospitals), Clina- Lancet Laboratories and a Director of THT. He holds the National Honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He also hold the Hereditary title of the Oloriogun of Ijebu- Ode where he is the acting Chairman of the Council of Awujale Chiefs. He is a Trustee of many Foundations including the Awokoya Foundation and he is the Founder of the Sonny Kuku Foundation.

Engr. (Chief) Joe Anyigbo, currently an Oil and Gas Consultant, has over 35 years of extensive experience in the oil and gas industry both here and abroad. He disengaged from Chevron Nigeria Ltd in 2002 as a Pioneer Executive Director after a very distinguished and meritorious career.

Engr. Joe Anyigbo was educated at Lafayette College, Pennsylvania USA, where he graduated with bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Chemical Engineering; Later he obtained Masters of  Science degree from Carnegie- Mellon University and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Pittsburgh, USA.

At Chevron Nigeria Ltd, he servedin various capacities including Manager Engineering, pioneer gas development General Manager, and pioneer Executive Director covering Exploration, IT & New Ventures. His contributions to the Nigerian oil and gas industry are immeasurable and exemplary.

Chief Anyigbo is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, an active Member of the Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers. He is a recipient of many awards including National Productivity Order of Merit Award; S O Awokoya Foundation; Nigeria Petroleum Industry Goldden Jubilees – Pathfinder Award.

Chief Anyigbo serves on the Board of Committees of several companies. He and Mrs Anyigbo are blessed with four (4) children.

Dr. Olutayo Martins MB.BS, MPH, PGDM, PhD.                                         Member, Board of Trustees

Dr. Olutayo Folashade Matins is a public health physician and clinician. She holds a medical degree (MBBS) with postgraduate qualifications in Public health (MPH), management (PGDM) and a PhD in Community Health. She has vast experience in community activities aimed at improving health and quality of life among human populations. She has extensive experience in research and teaching, managing HIV/AIDS, TB, Nutrition and Malaria control programs as well as clinical experience in managing Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as Hypertension and Diabetes Miletus. In addition, She is a trained palliative care physician in particular respect to cancer and HIV/AIDS patients.

She is currently the Project Manager for MacArthur’s Task Shifting and sharing implementation in Adamawa and Nasarawa States.

She is also a part-time lecturer at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola and a visiting lecturer with Gombe State University.

Miss Similola Awokoya (M.Eng)         Member, Board of Trustees

Miss Awokoya is an Associate software developer at Goldman Sachs International.

She holds a masters degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Imperial College London UK.

She is involved in several recruiting and mentoring initiatives that empower and encourage women into pursuing degrees and careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) related subjects.

Dr. Omolaraeni Awokoya-Adadevoh M.Sc.(Occ. Med.) Lond.

Executive Director, Board of Trustees

Dr. Awokoya-Adadevoh, is the Executive Director of the foundation, a part time position she holds with the Managing Directorship of Omad Nig. Limited.

Until recently, she was the Executive secretary of the African Heart Network, a coalition of African Heart Foundations with membership in sixteen (16) African countries. She is very active in several professional, religious, charity and social organisations chief of which are The Methodist Church Nigeria and the Lions Club International. She is the immediate past president of Ladies Friendly Society, Methodist Church of the Trinity Tinubu, MCTT Lagos.

She is  two (2) times recipient of the Woman Achievers Award from both the Lagos state and Ogun state chapters of WOWICAN the women’s wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
