Mr. Akinpelumi attended the International School at the University of Lagos, Akoka for his secondary schooling. He had nine (9) distinctions out of the nine (9) subjects he sat for in his Senior Secondary Certificate Exams, including eight (8) A1grade.

He went on to attend the University of Lagos, where he graduated with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, with a cumulative grade point average of 4.92 out of a maximum of 5.0.

He was the recipient of the Prof Ayo Ogunye Chair of Chemical Engineering Scholarship prize for best 400 level Student. He also won the Prof Ayo Ogunye Chair of Chemical Engineering   prize for the best graduating student in Chemical Engineering at University of Lagos. He was also the winner   of Professor Emeritus Willis Harmon Ray Prize for the best student in Process Dynamics and Control at University of Lagos.

Mr. Akinpelumi will be pursuing post graduate studies in Chemical Engineering.
